Melissa Pieters,
President

I grew up in Quebec, Canada, and was very fortunate to be involved in sports. Getting a full scholarship to play soccer in college is what brought me to the USA. I have a degree in Business from the University of Wyoming.
My parents took us on great vacations, spent valuable time with us but also taught us the value of hard work and the value of a dollar. Since I can remember, my father taught me to save for a rainy day, and make sure you take care of your pennies; because if you do, your dollars will take care of themselves. I try to instill the same philosophies with my clients and my kids!
In 2005, I started in financial services and grew to love working with clients and having the opportunity to see them continue to reach their goals.
My values are very simple, treat people the way you would like to be treated. Be kind, generous, and true to yourself. I believe in giving back to the world, being there for people, and making a difference. I think hard work and financial success should be rewarded but not at the expense of your family.
Two cases early in my career helped shape my philosophy:
Early in my career, I approached some of the parents and grandparents from my collegiate soccer team. One retired couple gave me an opportunity to work with them, and even though difficult times, we continued to work together to manage their risk and work towards their goals. Long-term client relationships like this something I truly value.
The second case involved a family who had lost their husband/father to an accident. They experienced financial hardship as a result, and this pushed me to learn how to have those “tough conversations” about life insurance with every client I meet.
It’s these interactions and experiences that have changed my approach and my practice.
I am passionate about taking the worry out of your financial life, ensuring your loved ones are taken care of, being able to deliver the news that you can retire, or providing assistance in your time of need. I, unfortunately, have lost dear friends and clients in the last few years. However, they were fortunate to have their finances in order. I love helping clients work towards their dreams.
I am also passionate about relationships and watching people succeed. I treat my clients like my family and friends, and I always do what makes the most sense, creating an environment where you can feel comfortable sharing your goals, dreams, and fears. Together, we work through them as a team.
In 2008, I married my best friend in the entire world, and have two kids. My hobbies include spending lots of time with my family, golfing, running, obstacle races (Tough Mudder), skiing, swimming, water skiing, tennis, camping, boating, traveling, having a glass of wine…and the list goes on.

I am a 3rd generation Colorado native in this beautiful state and country. I am so fortunate to have been raised here. I have an amazing sister, brother and two beautiful kids.
I got a degree in healthcare management but realized that helping people in more ways than one was most important so I decided to join MBP Financial and help people realize their dreams and goals for a prosperous life and ensure their families were protected.
My parents spent valuable time with us but also taught us the value of hard work and the value of a dollar. Since I can remember, my parents taught me to be true, always keep your word and make sure that I watched out for my family.

I care deeply about law enforcement as my dad, husband and sister have been police officers. My husband is now a criminal investigator for the District Attorney, I am so grateful for the dedication from my family, service and willingness to put their life on the line to protect the community.
Financial planning is very near and dear to my heart. I unexpectedly lost my mom and had she and my dad not planned appropriately, we would all be less fortunate. I miss her everyday and wish she could see all the great things I am doing. I am fortunate that she took care of her family and made sure everyone was always taken care of. As a mom, I am sure she always put herself last.
I laugh at the fact that MBP Financial calls me “The Director of Melissa” because I really am.
I am also passionate about family and taking care of my kids, being a mom, wife, however, also building a career that I am proud of.
I married my best friend in the entire world and am grateful for my kids and my life.
